Karina Now Has A Family

Hello Everyone,

Karina now has a family wishing to adopt her.  Our names are Mark and Debbie.  When we heard Karina's story we felt instantly lead to adopt her.  We are a family of 4.  We would appreciate all the help you can give us.  We want to welcome Karina into our family and our hearts.

We are in the process of an expedited Home Study and collecting all important data to apply for her adoption.  As of today we have raised $15, 650.00.  We need to raise at least $30,000 in order to make this happen.  Please keep forwarding Karina blog and help us raise the money.  This way, as soon as she is approved, we will be able to travel.  Donations of airline miles would also be appreciated.

Unlike the United States, where the public tends to empathize with orphaned children, orphans in Ukraine are looked down upon.  People think that if their mother didn't want them, why should they? It's a stigma they carry, and few of the children have a chance to be adopted in Ukraine.

What's worse is that when the children leave the orphanages, usually around age 16, they are ill-prepared to deal with the realities of life.

If they don't commit suicide, the girls become prostitutes to get money for food, and the boys go into crime and steal for food. The statistics are scary.

Please help me make a difference in this one's life.  Don't let her be a statistic.

Thank you for all your help and support.  With God's blessing and will we are going to succeed and make a difference.

  1. When I read Karina's story my heart was also moved to adopt her. I have grown children and grandchildren and my life seemed without purpose. My husband and I are building a new house that I have not been interested in until I read about Karina. I finally had a purpose for building a new house at my age...I'd be raising a teenager in it. I am blessed in so many ways and I wanted Karina to be blessed as well. I will be 60 yrs. old on April 20 and my time to adopt was running short so I prayed for a family to be touched by her and her story and here you are. I am so thankful that God spoke to your hearts! You will be in my prayers as you continue this journey of the adoption process and your travels to meet Karina. May God richly bless you, Jane Austin Lee
